Wolves Like Us
Wolves Like Us are a rock band from Oslo, Norway, active from 2010. Their music sits in alternative rock, post-hardcore and rock, with the bio also tagging them with hardcore and punk rock.
Formation and line-up
The band forms in 2010 in Oslo and brings together musicians with backgrounds in several Norwegian groups, including Amulet, Infidels Forever, JR Ewing and Silver. This gives the group a veteran lineup drawn from past and present scenes in Norwegian rock and hardcore.
Recordings and label
Shortly after forming, Wolves Like Us sign worldwide to Prosthetic Records. They release their debut album, Late Love, in 2011.
Tours and festivals
The band tours extensively from the start of its career. In 2011, they tour with the reformed Swing Kids and also tour Europe with Kvelertak, alongside The Secret, Doomriders and Toxic Holocaust. They also play a split-headline European tour with labelmates Junius in spring 2012.
Wolves Like Us appear at several festivals, including Øyafestivalen and Hove in Norway in 2011, and Groezrock, Greenfield and Horst in Belgium and Switzerland in 2012.
Style and influences
The group describes its approach as making the music its members love, drawing on influences such as Quicksand, Killing Joke, Planes Mistaken For Stars and Hot Water Music, while also taking cues from Iron Maiden-style guitar riffs and vocal elements associated with the Afghan Whigs.
