Trees

Trees are a British folk rock group from London, active between 1970 and 1973. The line-up includes Alan Eden, Bias Boshell, Unwin Brown, Barry Clarke, David Costa and Celia Humphris. The group is associated with folk rock, folk, psychedelic folk, psychedelic and progressive folk.

Their music draws on traditional material as well as original songs, and it combines the influence of Fairport Convention with a heavier, more psychedelic approach. They do not achieve major commercial success during their original period of activity, but their reputation grows over time.

Recordings

Trees release two albums: The Garden of Jane Delawney and On the Shore. These recordings establish the band’s place in British folk rock through a mix of adaptations and self-written material.
