The Suzukis were a 4-piece alternative rock band based in Wigan, England. Formed in 2002, the band comprised Chris Veasey (vocals), Adam Bamford (guitar), Robert Warnes (bass) and Stuart Robinson (drums). They signed to the Sony/Columbia "indie" label imprint Deltasonic (home of The Zutons, The Coral and The Dead 60's) in 2005. Following support slots with various labelmates - most notably The Fall in January 2006 - the band virtually fell off the radar. In July 2007, they released their debut single, the 4-track Reducer EP. A long gap followed as they began recording songs for inclusion on their debut album throughout 2007, including a mastering session at New York's Soundtrack Recording Studio in late-November. Their second release, the 2-track single Night-time Takes Over, was released digitally in late-2008. On 11 July 2011, following the previous year's estrangement of Deltasonic from Sony, the band finally released their self-titled debut album, The Suzukis. To help promote the record, the band made the opening track, "Are You Happy With Yourself?", available to download for free via their official website. On 7 September 2012, the band announced that they had decided to split up, despite having "new material in the pipeline". http://thesuzukis.com
