The Android Sisters

The Android Sisters are a one-off group best known for backing Kathy Mar on “Nobody’s Moggy Now” in 1989. The act takes its name from a concept that combines the idea behind Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the novel that underlies Blade Runner, with a version of the Andrews Sisters imagined as androids.

Their recorded material is gathered on the 1984 LP Songs of Electronic Despair, issued on Vanguard Records and later presented as a CD collection with bonus tracks. The music is described as an unusual mix of MIDI and Synclavier-based genre-hopping, with dual female robot-disco vocals, satire, and social commentary.
