Rhythm-ites

Rhythm-ites are a reggae group from the United Kingdom, originally based in Bath. They begin as a free-festival band playing a loose mix of punk and reggae, before developing into a roots reggae act.

Career

In the late 1980s, the band plays across the UK and parts of Europe. Their debut album, Integration, is recorded in 1989 and released on Bluurg!, a label associated with anarcho-punk acts including Subhumans, Culture Shock and Citizen Fish. Because only a limited number of copies are pressed, the album becomes hard to find.

After Integration, they continue to perform and appear at festivals but do not record another album for some time. The group effectively stops working after 2000, then returns in 2007 and begins playing together at musical gatherings. This leads to new writing in May 2009 and the recording of Stand Strong, which is released in 2010.
