Relentless
Joensuu punk rock band
Relentless is a punk rock band from Joensuu, Finland, formed by friends who already had experience playing in other bands. The group develops a sound that combines punk rock with rock and roll influences, drawing on styles ranging from 1950s rockabilly to psychobilly. The first time the members play together is around 2005.
The band writes its own material rather than performing 1950s rockabilly covers. Its sound is built around three players, with double bass as an important part of the arrangement and a link to older roots music. Former bands associated with the members include Lucky Bastards and Rudeo. Their influences include The Clash, Johnny Cash and Stray Cats.
Sydney hardcore band
Relentless is also the name of a five-piece hardcore band from Sydney, Australia. This line-up has been together since mid-2006 and is described as a stable group with all five members committed to the project. The band plays aggressive hardcore punk. Its debut album, Set In Stone, is released through Dogfight Records.
