Protest The Hero

Protest The Hero are a Canadian progressive metal band from Whitby, Ontario, active since 1999. Their sound is associated with mathcore, metalcore, progressive metal and progressive metalcore. The group’s line-up includes Rody Walker on lead vocals, Tim Millar on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Luke Hoskin on lead guitar, backing vocals and piano, Arif Mirabdolbaghi on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Mike Ieradi on drums and percussion. The verified line-up also lists Arif Mirbaghi, Luke Hoskin, Tim MacMillar, Rody Walker and Michael Ieradi.

History

The band first performs under the name Happy Go Lucky before changing to Protest the Hero shortly before the release of their debut EP, Search for the Truth, in 2002. Their first full-length album, Kezia, follows in 2005 on Underground Operations. The album later receives an American release through Vagrant Records after the band signs to that label in January 2006. Fortress, the second full-length album, appears in 2008, issued by Underground Operations in Canada and Vagrant Records internationally.

Protest the Hero continue with Scurrilous in 2011 and then release Volition as an independent album in 2013. Their recorded output also includes the debut EP Search for the Truth, which marks the first release under the Protest the Hero name.
