UK based, Irish singer Niamh (pronounced ‘Neeve’) Egan has loved music for as long as she can remember. Some of her earliest memories are whistling songs from the back seat of her father’s car and singing Gloria Estefan songs to her grandfather (from whom she inherited her musical talent). At 11, Niamh started playing the violin and progressed quickly considering her late start. By the age of 14 she had already received a scholarship to study Music and Drama at the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) in Dublin, Ireland. After four years, Niamh left the Academy with a real determination to follow her lifelong passion of becoming a singer. She was accepted into the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), (aka Paul McCartney's Fame School). It was at LIPA that Niamh was introduced to Norwegian songwriter and producer Torgeir ('T') Bjordal. T had been searching for the right singer for his tracks and a personality to match. He found what he was looking for in Niamh. 2010 has been a year of great achievement for Niamh -- in June she graduated with a BA (Hons) Performing Arts (Music) degree and signed a record deal with NYC based Robbins Entertainment (home of Cascada, September, and AnnaGrace). Her first single, “You're The One” (written by Torgeir Bjordal & Michael J. Smith) will be released in the US on August 17th, followed by releases in the UK and the rest of world. Niamh is grateful and thrilled about everything that has happened to her so far and is excited to see what the future holds. www.niamhegan.com www,myspace.com/niamhegan www.facebook.com/therealniamhegan www.twitter.com/niamhegan
