Miss May I

Miss May I is a metalcore band from Troy, United States. The group is active from 2007 and performs in metalcore, deathcore, melodic metalcore, metal and post-hardcore.

History

The band begins in 2006 and develops through local shows before building a following. It releases its first EP, Vows for a Massacre, in 2007, followed by the demo EP Demo 2008. It then signs to Rise Records and releases its debut album, Apologies Are For The Weak, which reaches number 29 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart.

After the debut album, bassist Josh Gillispie leaves the group and Ryan Neff, formerly of Rose Funeral, joins on bass and vocals. The band’s second album, Monument, follows in 2010. A deluxe edition of the album appears in 2011 and includes the original tracks, three new songs, a B-side, music videos, interviews and live performances.

The group’s lineup includes Levi Benton on vocals, Jerod Boyd on drums, Elisha Mullins on guitar, Ryan Neff on bass and vocals, Justin Aufdemkampe and BJ Stead.
