Mindless Behavior is an American boy band from Los Angeles, active from 2008 to 2017. The group is made up of Craig Crippen, Jr., Santo August, Rayan Lopez, Jacob Perez, Elijah “EJ” Johnson and Michael Martin. It is best known for the single “My Girl”, which is produced by Walter Millsap.

Formation and early work

The group is put together in Los Angeles in 2008 by Walter Millsap, who has previously worked with Beyoncé. Before releasing recorded material, the members train in dance and singing for two years. Their debut album is #1 Girl.

Recordings and performances

Mindless Behavior performs “My Girl” on The Today Show in November 2010. The band also tours as an opening act for the Backstreet Boys and for Justin Bieber, and later tours with Justin Bieber and Jason Derülo. It is also the sole opening act for Janet Jackson’s 2011 tour.

Style and influences

The group is described as a boy band with rnb, Hip-Hop and urban associations. Its influences include Michael Jackson, Usher and Justin Timberlake.

Members and background

The members are all from Los Angeles, California except Prodigy, who is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The earlier lineup is given as Prodigy, Roc Royal, Ray Ray and Princeton.
