LUVDUMP
LUVDUMP is a punk group from Bury St Edmunds, active since 2007. The band combines fast melodic punk with ska-core, reggae and dub, and writes politically and socially conscious songs. Their live performances are described as high energy, and they tour widely across the UK, with regular trips to mainland Europe.
Activity and releases
The group performs in a range of DIY settings, including squats, fields, free parties, festivals, pubs, clubs and benefit shows for grassroots projects. In 2008 they release a demo, Dumpin on Society E.P, which later goes out of print but remains available online. In 2010 they release Information Is Power E.P on CD, with help and distribution from Riot Ska and Righteous Anger Records; it is also available as a free download and on CD through the band and the label.
Politics and scene connections
LUVDUMP openly support the DIY scene, Antifa actions, squatting, and de-criminalisation of cannabis cultivation, and state anti-sexist, anti-racist, anti-fascist and anti-homophobic views. Their material and live work are closely tied to benefit events and grassroots political activity.
Style and planned work
The band describes its sound as a mix of punk, ska-core, reggae and dub. At the point described in the bio, LUVDUMP is writing and recording material for a debut album.
