Lou Rhodes

Lou Rhodes is an English singer and songwriter from Manchester, now living in Wiltshire. She works in folk and is known for her vocals and lyrics with Lamb, as well as for her solo recordings and writing.

With Lamb

Rhodes is one of the members of Lamb, and her role in the group centres on vocals and lyrics. The project is also listed with Kiiōtō among her associated acts.

Solo work

Her solo work is rooted in folk music. Her debut solo album, Beloved One, is released through her own label, Infinite Bloom, and is shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize. Her second album, Bloom, is issued via A&G Records and Infinite Bloom. Her third album, One Good Thing, appears on Motion Audio and Infinite Bloom. Later, she releases the singles “All The Birds” and “All I Need”, followed by theyesandeye on Nude Records. That album includes a cover of “Angels”, originally performed by The xx, and features Ian Kellet on guitars, Nikolaj Bjerre on drums, Danny Keane on strings and Tom Moth on harp.

Writing and other work

Rhodes also works as an author. She publishes the children’s picture book The Phlunk through Strata Books, followed by The Phlunk’s Worldwide Symphony. She also contributes an essay to The First Time I Heard The Smiths, part of a series in which musicians and writers describe first hearing an iconic artist or band.
