Little Mix

Little Mix are a British girl group from London, England. They form in 2011 during the eighth series of the British version of The X Factor and remain active. The group is associated with dance, dance-pop, pop, pop rap, R&B and teen pop.

The line-up changes over time. The act begins as a four-piece and includes Jesy Nelson, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne. Jesy Nelson leaves in December 2020, and the group continues as a trio with Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne. The group is also listed with the name The X Factor Finalists 2011.

Little Mix becomes the first group to win The X Factor. After that win, they sign with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music and issue a cover of Damien Rice’s “Cannonball” as their winner’s single. The group is known for strong vocals, close harmonies and themes of female empowerment and unity. They sell 70 million records worldwide and are described as the third biggest girl group of all time.

In 2021, Little Mix become the first female girl group to win the Brit Award for Best Group. The group is later on hiatus while the members focus on solo work.
