Lamont

Lamont is a stoner rock trio from Allston, Massachusetts, active from 1998 to 2007. The group forms one of several acts using the name Lamont.

Style and recordings

The band is associated with stoner rock and hard rock, and critics describe its sound as raw 1970s-style AC/DC-inspired rock and roll. By 2007, Lamont has released four albums on four different record labels, with each album issued on a separate company.

Performances and related releases

Lamont has opened for Mojo Nixon, Reverend Horton Heat and Drive-By Truckers. The group also re-records a ZZ Top track for a 1970s cover compilation. Its track “Hotwire”, from Thunder Boogie, appears in and on a commercial for Tony Hawk’s Underground.
