Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong
Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong are a London-based British rock and indie group active between 2007 and 2010. The line-up includes Joe van Moyland, Maxim Barron, Thomas Dougall and Dominic O’Dair. The band is also described as an all-male indie act.
Formation and early activity
The group plays its first gig in January 2007. It emerges from the London indie scene and works under the name Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong during its short recording life.
Releases and labels
The band’s debut single is Lucio Starts Fires, released on Young and Lost Club Records. After that, it parts company with a second record label in October 2009, and the group splits soon afterwards.
Band members and connections
Joe Lean also performs as Joe Van Moyland and is previously the drummer in The Pipettes until June 2007. Guitarist Tommy D is the brother of Rose Pipette from the same group. Bummer stands in as drummer for The Pipettes and originally drums with The Sigma before leaving to play full time with Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong.
