Joe Cool is a rapper, born Terrance Donell Brown in Chicago, Illinois. He grows up on the south side of the city and later moves to central Louisiana at the age of 15, where he starts producing and recording his own music and works with other local hip-hop artists.

Background and style

He says music and art shape his identity, and he begins as a battle rapper. His early listening includes Eminem, Outkast and Onyx, and he also draws on hip-hop alongside indie and alternative rock, which gives his music a distinct sound. As a child, he studies Michael Jackson and is influenced by his movement and music.
