In Case of Fire are an alternative rock band from Portadown, Northern Ireland, formed in 2005. The group is active from 2005 to 2012 and reunites in 2016. Their original line-up consists of Steven Robinson on lead vocals, guitars and lyrics, Mark Williamson on bass, and Colin Robinson on drums.

Style and comparisons

The band plays alternative rock with progressive rock and hardcore influences, and they are also associated with post-hardcore. Their songs use unusual time signatures, which draws critical attention. They are compared with Muse, Queens of the Stone Age and The Mars Volta.

Recordings and recognition

In Case of Fire sign to Search and Destroy Records in the UK and to Zomba Label Group in the United States, before later becoming independent. Their debut album, Align the Planets, appears in 2009 and receives strong reviews from the alternative music press. In August 2009, the band wins the Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer.

Steven Robinson plays lead vocals and guitars and writes lyrics from 2005 to 2012 and again from 2016 onwards. Adam Booth plays bass guitar from 2016 onwards. Colin Robinson plays drums and percussion from 2005 to 2011 and again from 2016 onwards.
