Holy Ghost!
Holy Ghost! is a Brooklyn-based electronic and alternative dance duo made up of Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser. Active since 2007, the group works in funk, neo-disco, synth-pop, disco, space disco, and electro, and is also known for production and DJ work.
Releases
The duo releases music on DFA Records and issues its work under the Holy Ghost! name. Its self-titled debut album appears in 2011, followed by Dynamics in 2013. In 2015, the group releases Work For Hire, a remix album issued independently. That set gathers remixes that draw on the duo’s earlier approach to groove, arrangement, and reworkings of its own material and related songs.
Performances and remixes
Holy Ghost! appears on television programmes including Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show with David Letterman. The duo also tours with New Order and performs at festivals including Coachella, Outside Lands, Primavera, and Bonnaroo. Alongside its own releases, it remixes tracks for artists including Katy Perry, LCD Soundsystem, and Moby.
