General Levy

General Levy is a London-born reggae and jungle artist associated with drum and bass, dubwise and jungle. He gains wide recognition for the 1994 jungle track “Incredible”, and by that point he has already collected several awards, including Best British Reggae Single, Best British Reggae Album and Best British Reggae MC.

Career

He tours with Buju Banton and Chaka Demus & Pliers. His collaborations include work with Sly and Robbie, Heatwave, Desmond Decker, Aswad, Jamelia and Shola Ama. He also works with dance acts including I Kamanchi, Krafty Kuts and Kayestone.

Releases and activity

General Levy issues “Sugarcane” on Eclectic Breaks, with a 7-inch release that includes a dancehall remix by Bigga and Marga Man and features Pinky Lou, who also works with Maxi Priest and Barrington Levy. He also prepares an album called Ghetto Youth and tours nightclub venues across the UK in support of it.
