Cardboard Radio

Cardboard Radio are a York-based British group formed in 2004. The band is centred on Andy Gaines and is described as a three-piece playing a rough-edged mix of punk, blues and rock and roll.

Activity and releases

The group spends its early years playing dates across the UK, including shows with Arctic Monkeys and Maximo Park, and appears at Leeds Festival in 2005. It releases several EPs and puts out its debut single, “Different Like Everybody Else” / “Please Please Please...No!”, on Red Letter Records. The band also tours Germany, France and Austria with The Sunshine Underground and records its debut album in Yorkshire.
