Barberos

Barberos is an English experimental rock band from Liverpool, active since 2008. Their music combines electronic, math rock, noise, progressive electronic and progressive rock, and also draws on jazz, dub, breakcore and other noisy, rhythm-driven styles. The group is associated with Upitup Records.

The band first performs in late 2008 and then tours throughout the United Kingdom and Western Europe. Its sound is built around polyrhythmic, drum-led patterns, double drumming, synths, wide-echoed chords and tightly assembled rhythmic structures. Costume and projections are part of its live presentation.

Barberos shares stages with Charles Hayward of This Heat, Melt Banana, Kayo Dot, Tim Exile, Capillary Action and Ruins Alone. Members also take part in other projects, including Stignoise, Stealing Sheep and Union Jacques, and are involved in running Wet Room bookings and co-running Upitup Records.
