Alex Vargas is a Danish singer and songwriter from Gentofte Municipality, Denmark. Born in 1988, he is also credited as a guitarist and singer. He is associated with rockabilly, acoustic, and rock and roll styles.

Career

Born Alexander Vargas Blay, he grows up in Denmark and begins recording early in life, releasing his debut album Rookie in 2003 under his full name when he is 15. He moves to London in 2005 to focus on his music career, where he signs to Geffen Records and forms the band Vagabond.

Vagabond ends in 2010, after which he continues as a solo artist. In 2013 he releases the mini-album Howl on Tiger Music. That same year he co-writes and appears on five tracks on English trance group Above & Beyond’s fourth studio album, We Are All We Need.

Solo releases

In 2014 he signs with Copenhagen Records. His first release for the label is the single “Till Forever Runs Out”, followed by the EP Giving Up the Ghost in 2016. His second full-length album, Cohere, is released in 2017.
