Acid Attack
Acid Attack is a punk group from Southsea near Portsmouth, United Kingdom. The band forms in November 1980 and goes through numerous line-up changes. Their first gig, a few months after formation, ends in a riot after cans are thrown from the crowd.
Style and name
The band name refers to LSD. Their best-known song, also called “Acid Attack”, criticises acidheads whom the band sees as out of touch. Jacko describes the group’s aim as being a punk rock band that does not fit into narrow categories such as Crass-punk or Oi!-punk, arguing that punk should remain non-conformist and that each member brings a different musical outlook to the songwriting.
Releases
Acid Attack release a 12-track studio-recorded cassette LP. Demos by the band are also set to appear on CD through Only Fit For The Bin Records in the UK, with a vinyl issue also mentioned.
