BBC Young Folk Award nominee StevieRay Latham has been singing self-penned folk tunes ever since his uncle gave him a beat up old electric guitar. Aged about 12, riding in his Dad's car, he heard a song called 'Heartland Feeling' on a mix-tape that inspired him to write songs similar, songs with a message. Peter Bruntnell recorded StevieRay singing in his basement one night and, choosing ten tracks, StevieRay printed some copies and called the record 'Modern Attitudes'. Off the back of this self-financed independent release, he was shortlisted to appear at the BBC Young Folk Awards and started working with At The Helm Records, playing renowned venues including Hootenanny in Brixton, Notting Hill Arts Club and Camden town's Green Note amongst others. StevieRay is appearing at a number of festivals this summer including GoldCoast OceanFest, Truck Festival, Palmfest and more.
