Boardmasters Unveils Headliner for Beach Sessions - Sunset Sons

Boardmasters is stoked to announce an extra special addition to its Beach Sessions line-up today, as it is reveals that surf rockers Sunset Sons will headline.

Fistral Beach will play host to the freshest summer music acts as they take to the Beach Sessions stage for intimate live performances as the sun sets.  For those aged 18 and over, Beach Sessions are a real highlight of Boardmasters week, with the heady combination of live music, waves, sun and sand providing the ultimate summer vibe. Boardmasters takes place between Wednesday 10th – Sunday 14th August 2016, tickets are on sale NOW via the Boardmasters website.

Sunset Sons are no strangers to Boardmasters, having performed at Watergate Bay in 2015. This year, their special Thursday performance will allow fans to get even closer to the action in the chilled setting of Fistral Beach, as the band performs their hits as well as brand new material from debut album ‘Very Rarely Die’.

Elsewhere at this year’s Beach Sessions, Wednesday will see performances from pro-surf legend Tom Curren, who’ll be swapping his surfboard for a mic and guitar, Ady Suleiman and South-West hip-hop DJ, DJ Format and Abdominal. Thursday’s line-up includes indie rockers Betty The Shark, with pro-surfer/band-member Lee-Ann Curren, Pat Smith who’ll be joined by Sunset Sons.

Don’t miss out on the Beach Sessions, with tickets sold separately and available now: the Beach Bar on Fistral Beach provides a perfect setting for laidback beats late into the evening. Having previously seen the likes of The 1975, Norman Jay, Deaf Havana, Ben Howard and more, where better to catch some sweet summer vibes than Boardmasters Beach Sessions.

Boardmasters is located across two sites boasting with the best in music and sports action. Keep the party going at the Beach Sessions with live music on stunning Fistral Beach, as well as the Beach Bar and BBQ bringing food, drink and banging DJ sets for partygoers aged 18 and above. Head into Newquay to party until the sun rises with Boardmasters After Parties, which take place at clubs around the town centre. Don’t miss the Pro Skate and BMX competitions for the best in extreme sports, the Surf Village, Cornish Market where you can sample the local delights, as well as Surf Art, photography and film sessions. If watching the surf action from the sidelines has tempted you to try it out yourself, ride the waves with a Surf Lesson from a local surf school. Unwind and relax at the Wellbeing Area or the On Site Eco Spa for some well deserved pamper time. There is also Luxury Camping and Glamping on offer to upgrade your experience even more.

 

Established in 1981, Boardmasters is a 5-day event situated across two stunning locations in Cornwall - the surfing mecca of the UK, Fistral Beach where Boardmasters famous International Surf Competitions take place and arguably the most stunning location in the country to watch live music, Watergate Bay.
