Whitby Folk Week
Longstanding and traditional, Whitby Folk Week has been enjoyed in the seaside town for many years and brings together many folk styles of music, dance and celebration from across the British Isles.
The festival now involves over 600 events which include everything from live concerts and gigs to workshops, singarounds, dances, street entertainment and a growing range of fringe events.
This year’s Whitby Folk Week is running from 22nd until 28th August and has a huge line up including Archie Fisher, Carolyn Robson & Moira Craig, Chris Newman & Maire Ni Chathasaigh, Cupola, Dave Fletcher & Bill Whaley, Geoff Lakeman, John Conolly, Knotted Chord, Len Graham & Jack Lynch, Martyn Wyndham-Read & Iris Bishop, Nick Dow, Peta Webb & Ken Hall and many more as well as a range of ceilidh acts and well known ceilidh callers.
The festival takes over many venues across Whitby and brings in the whole community for the week.
