What began as a one day event has developed into a weekend-long celebration of live arts and music in Hull, Freedom Festival invites artists from around the globe to get involved with their festival, alongside the local community.
This year’s Freedom Festival has the theme ‘Broadcast: Voices of Freedom’ and is in its 8th year with many visual artists and museums already signed up. The line-up includes Public Service Broadcasting, Tubular Bells for Two, Freedom Chorus and Scanner. Over 200 acts will be performing throughout the weekend with theatre, spoken word and community programmes too. The opening night begins with a huge spectacular with a focus on the River Hull and features Hull’s Freedom Chorus.
